Editing your book

I understand that your book is a labour of love, so I take its completion as personally as you do. I will include you in the process, highlighting and explaining my editorial decisions, sharing my feedback with delicacy and compassion, and taking the time to make sure you agree with my advice.

You have invested countless hours and a great deal of passion, dedication, and creativity into writing your manuscript. I see it as my job to make certain it does not fall at the last hurdle. I will set my decades of editing expertise to the task of making your book the best that it can be.

I turn good books into great ones

This is the most comprehensive and in-depth form of edit. I will thoroughly analyse your draft to identify any big picture issues with its structure, organisation, consistency, and coherence and provide you with an in-depth report of my recommendations. These could  include rearranging (or removing) blocks of text or whole chapters,  as well as other major changes.

With my guidance, you can ensure your book meets the needs and interests of your readers, is right for the genre, audience, and market, and is an engaging and compelling read throughout.

Structure Edit

Once the foundation is solid, copy editing steps in to elevate your writing to a higher literary standard, perfect language, and polish prose. I will meticulously review your manuscript line by line, delving into the nuances of your writing to improve the flow and pace of sentences, enhance its rhythm, and perfect the 4 C's -clarity, coherency, consistency and correctness.

I will pay attention to the finer details such as spelling and grammar, word repetition, awkward phrasing, and the overall aesthetic of your language - perfecting, refining, and polishing.

Copy Editing

Proofreading is the last line of defence before your manuscript goes to print. I will perform an eagle-eyed examination of the final version of your book, catching any lingering typos like extra spaces, capitalisation errors, missing punctuation, spelling mistakes, format issues, and other small errors that may have slipped through the cracks.

This ensures your book is ready to start attracting publishers or for uploading to platforms like Amazon kindle, and that it reaches the reader in its most polished and error-free form.

Proofreading

Sometimes a manuscript needs the help of a professional writer to help it achieve its potential. That is where I come in. As an experienced ghostwriter I can help take your writing to the next level, rewriting sections and chapters, or even finishing off your incomplete draft for you - whatever you need to ensure every word entices and reveals.

You can find my ghosted works in all good bookstores and dozens of respected publications, if you know where to look, so your manuscript is in good hands. Read more about ghostwriting.
